Bought Ledger Controller (Part -Time)

Location: Kenley Department: Finance
We are currently seeking a Bought Ledger Controller to work within our Finance team reporting to the Assistant Financial Accountant.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring the accounts e-mail and ensuring that all correspondence is dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Being first point of contact for all relevant queries and escalate queries where necessary
  • Accurate processing of invoices and matching to the relevant order on the Sage system
  • Coding of invoices for miscellaneous invoices without a purchase order
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Identifying invoices that need to be accrued and passing copies to the Management Accountant.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, ensuring that copy invoices are requested where necessary and any debit balances on the account are cleared in a timely manner
  • Review of unapproved invoices, chasing relevant managers where necessary
  • Alerting the department manager to all debit balances on supplier accounts
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Maintaining strong relationships with all suppliers
  • Preparation of a BACS payment file and emailing remittance advices to the relevant suppliers
  • Making suggestions for improvement where necessary
  • Additional tasks as required by management

Key Skills

  • Numerate
  • Good Excel skills
  • Good communication skills and telephone manner
  • Sage X3 experience desirable (or another ERP programme)
  • Good at working in a team
  • Good time management skills prioritising work as necessary to achieve group goals

This is a part time position, approx. 22.5 hours per week (hours to suit) and is based at our Head Office in Kenley, Surrey. Some home working may be possible.
