Accounts Assistant

Location: Kenley Department: Accounts
We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to work from our busy Kenley Office, reporting directly to the Senior Management Accountant.

The Role

  • Provide daily cash balances to Directors
  • Update bank reconciliations daily and ensure cash book postings are accurately processed
  • Processing month end journals both standard and ad hoc as requested by Senior Management Accountant/Financial Controller to ensure management accounts are accurate
  • Provide accurate transactional information to the regional offices on costs and revenue
  • Ensure engineers are able to access parking apps/ update credit card details for parking
  • Reconcile credit card transactions
  • Process Fixed Assets onto Fixed Asset register
  • Assist with production of monthly reports for management accounts
  • Assist with production of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Deputise for the Senior Management Accountant during periods of absence
  • Any other tasks as reasonably required by the Board of Directors

The Candidate

  • Highly numerate, must have excellent analytical, data and spreadsheeting skills
  • The ability to communicate with non-finance people in a clear and understandable way
  • Excellent system skills with previous experience in Sage X3 or similar ERP system beneficial
  • A passion for getting things right
  • Good time management and the ability to work well in a team
  • The ability to break down a complex problem into manageable chunks and deal with these
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience of using a large ERP system
  • AAT qualification would be beneficial
